Are Brasco shelters MADE IN AMERICA?
Yes, Brasco shelters have always been made in The United States of America, and comply with all “Buy America” requirements.
Are all bus or smoking shelters created equal?
No, many suppliers of shelters have cut cost by reducing the thickness of metal or shipping shelters in kit form. Brasco has always kept standards high and ships all their shelters in “knocked down” condition for quicker – easier installation. “Knocked down” condition means a Brasco shelter will arrive in pre-assembled wall and roof sub-assemblies for easy installation.
What sizes are available?
Brasco has built shelters from as small as 2ft x 6ft all the way up to 10ft x 30ft, with 5ft x 10ft being the most popular size.
What is ADA?
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) is a set of government regulations outlining dimensional standards for the building industry.
What materials are used?
Most of Brasco’s shelters are designed and manufactured using aluminum and either glass or polycarbonate for the glazing material. Other materials used may include steel, stainless steel and acrylics.
What finishes are available?
Brasco offers both anodized and powder coated finishes.
What if I want a special color?
Powder coating offers a large range of colors for your selection, and offers a long-lasting durable finish. Anodized finishes are also available in Bronze, Black and Clear all offering very durable finishes.

What roof designs are available?
Several roof designs are available including dome, barrel and peaked designs. The dome and barrel vaulted roofs utilize translucent materials which allow light to pass through while the standing seam roofs feature bright white powder coated undersides which reflects ambient light for a safer environment.
What different materials can I use on my roof?
Roofs can be fabricated using several different materials including acrylic, polycarbonate and anodized or painted metal.
What glazing materials are offered?
Most of the shelters shipped are glazed with ¼” tempered glass, however some clients opt for polycarbonate or perforated metal panels. All materials used in the manufacturing of Brasco shelters adhere to the strictest industry standards. Ask your Brasco representative which may be best for your particular situation.
What are the Pros and Cons of different glazing materials?
Every glazing material comes with both positive and negative characteristics. Glass, which is most often selected, is the least expensive, but the heaviest while polycarbonate is light and “unbreakable,” but tends to scratch more easily. Glass and polycarbonates are our most popular glazing materials, but there are many others that can be used. Ask your Brasco sales representative which product might be best for your application.
How long will it take for delivery?
Many shelters ship in as little as 4 to 6 weeks while other “custom” projects may take longer depending on quantity and options chosen.
How will it be shipped?
Brasco shelters are shipped in “knocked down” condition which means walls and roofs are shipped as complete assemblies. This is done for quick installation. All Brasco shelters are shipped securely crated and on tarped trailers to lessen transit damage.
Do I need special equipment to off-load the crates?
A fork lift with extended forks is recommended. Make sure to mention any special off-loading site conditions to your Brasco representative.
Is installation difficult?
Brasco shelters are shipped in “knocked down” condition and will arrive in pre-assembled wall and roof sections for quick installation.
What tools will I need for installation?
Installation is actually quite easy, but you will need some tools: an electric drill hammer and wrenches for the anchor bolts, an electric drill for rivet holes, a hammer for the drive rivets, a pop rivet gun for the pop rivets, and a level and square for shelter alignment. All fasteners and instructions are included.
How do I clean my shelter?
A mild detergent and water is probably all you will ever need. Never use solvents or abrasive materials that may damage the finish.
How do I get started designing MY shelter?
First think about how many people may be occupying the shelter at any given time. Where will it be placed? What type of setting will it be going into? What are the aesthetics of the immediate area? Brasco shelters last a long time, will the shelter you are considering accommodate growth? After you have an idea of what you may want, call your Brasco representative and let us help you with the final details.
What options and accessories are available?
Many options are available with a Brasco shelter. Some are aesthetic such as grill work, custom colors or roof detail. Other options are functional such as lighting, heating, doors, wind skirts or solar power. Don’t be afraid to ask your Brasco representative to address your special needs or design alternatives.
